Cheers to the Olympics!

In honor of the opening night of the Olympics in Rio, Brasil, I am introducing cocktail illustrations to the shop! And where else to begin but with the Caipirinha, a classic Brazilian cocktail.

The first and only Caipirinha I've had was while my husband and I were across the pond in Dublin this past Christmas. Yes, somehow I managed to have a Brazilian cocktail in Ireland before even getting to the Guinness. You can blame my husband for getting me sidetracked like that.

To make this classic drink, you'll need a lime, sugar, and cachaca, which is a spirit distilled from sugarcane juice. In your glass of choice, squeeze a quarter of a lime and drop in the wedge. Add a teaspoon of sugar, and muddle. Pour in two ounces of cachaca with a healthy dose of ice, and stir. Or, just refer to the illustration I've posted in the shop, here.

I'm going to be adding several more cocktails to the posting, so stay on the lookout. Or, you can request your favorite cocktail in the comments below! Cheers!

P.S. Don't worry, I did eventually have a Guinness, and it was incredible.
